The office coordinates international cooperation of various SMU units. Its main tasks  include preparation of draft contracts and agreements on cooperation with foreign centres and setting forth periodical action plan, coordination of current contacts with national and EU agencies. The office also supervises the execution of EU projects SMU is involved in.

Within the framework of the SOCRATES – ERASMUS program (enhancing the quality of education and reinforcing the European dimension of higher education) the office organizes student and teacher exchange in Europe.
